The Logistics Specialist plays a key role in coordinating and supporting the logistics operations for our client in the international food and retail sector, working closely with both logistics partners and internal stakeholders such as Operations and Commercial. This position ensures the timely and cost-effective movement of goods across supply chain channels and provides analytical and operational support to drive process efficiency. It also acts as a liaison for logistics-related matters and contributes to the ongoing improvement of internal practices.


Key Responsibilities and Achievements

Operational Coordination & Analysis

  • Support the logistics team through advanced reporting, identifying operational inefficiencies and preparing analysis on key logistics indicators.

  • Develop and manage monthly inbound volume projections and reports comparing volume vs. warehouse capacity to support strategic planning.

  • Maintain and update rate matrices for Ocean Freight, Over-the-Road (OTR), and Drayage transportation; lead quarterly rate assessments with regional providers.

  • Monitor sea freight market trends and visualize rate fluctuations through trend graphs.

  • Oversee the preparation and reporting of monthly Demurrage and Detention data.

  • Track large-scale shipping programs and report on volume, claims, spend, and key conversion metrics (e.g., gallons, kilograms).

  • Coordinate international bookings in collaboration with global freight forwarding partners.

  • Assist in onboarding new warehouse partners and contribute to performance evaluations for key logistics accounts.

Customs & Trade Compliance

  • Assist in customs audit preparation and compliance efforts in the USA and Canada.

  • Maintain the HTS code master list and support the administration of international trade agreements.

Customer and Sales Support

  • Act as a liaison for the Commercial and Operations teams, resolving logistics-related inquiries via phone, email, or digital platforms.

  • Ensure high service standards for internal clients, promoting smooth coordination across teams.

  • Monitor retail shipments and gather logistics rate options for comparative analysis in support of large-scale shipping programs.


Knowledge and Skills Required

Technical Skills

  • 3–4 years of experience in logistics or customer service roles.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general MS Office suite.

  • Understanding of international logistics, customs documentation, and freight operations.

  • Experience managing and analyzing shipping data and vendor rates.

Soft Skills

  • Exceptionally detail-oriented and organized.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines.

  • Comfortable working in dynamic and evolving environments.

  • High degree of initiative and eagerness to learn.

  • Effective communicator with a collaborative mindset.

    Hiring details

  1. Prestaciones superiores a las de Ley (+Vacaciones/Prima vacacional, 30 días Aguinaldo, vales despensa, fondo de ahorro, seguro de gastos médicos mayores, bono anual variable, estacionamiento, PTO days, entre otros).
  2. Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm or 9:00am-6:00pm (daylight saving / summer time)
  3. After anniversary, 1 day to be WFH
  4. Indefinite contract after training period
