Demand Planner (manufacturing environment and food industry)

The role as a demand planning analyst involves a crucial aspect of ensuring optimal and strategic inventory positioning for various commodities. The integration of business intelligence and forecast information from diverse sources is essential for effective demand planning.

  • Forecast Modeling, Purchasing and Importing, Costing, Inventory Allocation Plans:, Business Intelligence Integration, Region-Specific Challenges, Customer Base Considerations.

Academic/training requirements:

  • Minimum academic training: BSc or equivalent
  • Primary area of professional training: Logistics
  • Languages: Spanish & English B2/C1
  • Positions mid (2-3 years) through senior professionals (4 to 5 years) with relevant experience in manufacturing environment and food industry

Specific knowledge required:

  • Experience in food industry or other perishable commodities
  • Import/export environment 
  • ERP systems
  • Statistics, forecasting processes and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts
  • Power query, SQL based queries -desired-

Some of the responsibilities/tasks to be executed according to the final role:

  • Develop accurate demand forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and seasonality to ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Implement inventory management strategies to minimize waste, reduce carrying costs, and ensure sufficient stock availability to meet customer demands.
  • Work closely with suppliers to align production and delivery schedules, fostering efficient supply chain operations.
  • Facilitate the integration of new products into the demand planning process, considering factors such as launch timing and market acceptance.
  • Identify and assess potential risks to the supply chain, such as disruptions in the sourcing of raw materials or transportation challenges, and develop contingency plans.
  • Incorporate promotional activities into demand forecasts, considering the impact on sales and adjusting inventory plans accordingly.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to analyze sales data, track key performance indicators, and generate reports to inform decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with sales and marketing teams to understand market dynamics, customer feedback, and promotional plans that may influence demand.
  • Stay informed about and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and food safety requirements, adjusting plans as needed.
  • Regularly review and refine demand planning processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and responsiveness to changes in the food industry landscape.

Collaboration scheme

  • Type of contract: Direct hiring, great compensation package.
  • Hours: Monday through Friday (Office hours)
  • Modality: This is an onsite position, to be eligible candidates must be residing in Guadalajara, the offices are located in " Andares".
  • Financial compensation: Negotiable according to final role
