QA Specialist (Quality Assurance)
Department: Quality / Food
Responsible for managing, maintaining, and validating quality assurance and food safety documentation, systems, and data to ensure regulatory compliance, traceability, and operational accuracy.
This role acts as a key liaison between QA leadership, suppliers, co-packers, and internal stakeholders, supporting audits, certifications, supplier approvals, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality Management System.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and control QA and food safety documentation across internal platforms (ERP, QA systems, customer portals).
Manage product, ingredient, supplier, and co-packer specifications, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Maintain active item lists and support product release processes.
Upload and validate compliance documentation in customer and regulatory platforms (e.g., ICIX).
Collect, review, and maintain supplier and co-packer documentation (audits, HACCP plans, certifications).
Coordinate certification processes and renewals (Organic, Kosher, GFSI, among others).
Support supplier approval and evaluation processes for new and existing ingredients.
Support internal, customer, and third-party audits.
Assist in mock recalls, traceability exercises, and food safety investigations.
Review audit findings, corrective actions, and follow-up documentation.
Generate QA and food safety reports for management.
Monitor and analyze KPIs related to quality performance, complaints, and compliance.
Identify trends and improvement opportunities based on audit and operational data.
Participate in continuous improvement projects within the QA function.
Collaborate with QA Managers, Commercial teams, and external partners to resolve quality or food safety issues.
Support quality investigations, customer complaints, and special projects as required.
Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety standards, and internal safety policies.
Maintain accurate records to support traceability and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Food Engineering, or a related scientific field.
Experience (depending on seniority)
Intermediate: 2–3 years in food or manufacturing QA roles.
Senior: 4+ years in QA management or senior QA roles, preferably in food or pharmaceutical industries.
Technical Knowledge
Quality Assurance and Food Safety Management Systems.
GMP, HACCP, FSMA, PCQI, FSVP standards.
ERP and QA platforms (e.g., Oracle, SharePoint, Siemens).
Certification programs (Organic, Kosher, GFSI).
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
High attention to detail and data accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Clear and effective communication skills in English (written and verbal).

Hiring Details
